Rainbow Skies Collection

“I wanted to create something that felt like a happy day in pattern form, something children would instinctively connect with. It’s simple, bright, and made to spark joy.”

Skyward

Most of my pattern designs and illustrations begin with a feeling… Skyward collection began with joy.

This collection was inspired by my illustration Plant Kindness to Grow Joy, a piece rooted in the belief that simple, thoughtful moments of being kind to each other and the earth, can grow into something beautiful. I wanted to take that idea, of kindness and warmth and translate it into a playful pattern collection made especially for kids.

The Skyward Feeling

Skyward is all about looking up to sunshine, birds in flight, painted vivid rainbows and bright skies full of imagination. It's the feeling of playtime in the park, sunshine on your cheeks, and the promise of a colourful day ahead.

Each design is hand-drawn with a focus on bold, expressive shapes and happy colours. It’s perfect for little ones who radiate energy and wonder.

  • Main Print: A dark sky scattered with smiling suns, layered rainbows, floating clouds and sweet pink birds. It’s busy in the best way — full of movement and joy.

  • Sunshine Scatter: A sunny yellow coordinate dotted with cheerful sun faces, each with a different little expression. It’s like a fabric full of tiny personalities!

  • Rainbow Repeat: A simple yet energetic rainbow pattern with a hand-drawn touch. It’s vibrant, imperfect and full of heart.

Designed for Little Adventures

I envisioned these prints on playful pieces, like a backpack zipped up for school, or a lunchbox packed with favourite snacks. I can see them on pyjamas for bedtime stories or on dresses that spin in the sun. The colours are a full vibrant spectrum and the patterns feel accessible and fun.

Whether it’s clothing, accessories or decor, Skyward brings a pop of happiness wherever it lands.

From Sketchbook to Sunshine

Before the colours, the clouds, or the rainbows came to life, Skyward started in my sketchbook — a simple idea to capture joy in its purest form. Here’s a glimpse of the early planning stages, where the suns first smiled and the birds began to fly.
